Before ordering a tank you need to know how much water to store. It is easier than you think, all you need is the number of people, daily use per person and how many days of storage you want.
The formula
Capacity (litres) = people × daily use per person × days
Divide by 1,000 to get cubic metres.
Average household use in Saudi Arabia is roughly 200 to 300 litres per person per day. Add more if you have a garden, pool or staff.
Worked examples
| Property | People | Days | Need | Suggested size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ground-floor flat / small house | 4 | 7 | 7 m³ | 14 m³ |
| Mid-size villa | 8 | 7 | 14 m³ | 14 m³ or 22 m³ |
| Large villa with garden | 10 | 7 | 24.5 m³ (350 L/person) | 28 m³ |
| 6-apartment building | 30 | 3 | 22.5 m³ | 24 m³ |
| Rest house / farm | Varies | , | , | 29 m³ or multiple tanks |
Do not forget the space
Once you know the capacity, measure the available space. We offer the same capacity in different shapes, such as the 22 m³ long for narrow passages and the 22 m³ square for courtyards. You also need crane access to the tank location.
Tips from experience
- If you get frequent water cuts or rely on water trucks, go one size up.
- The price difference between sizes is small, for example, 24 m³ and 28 m³ cost the same.
- For large buildings, two tanks are better than one huge tank for cleaning and maintenance.
